They Filmed a Shell. AI Sold the Functions. The Fine Print Says It Is Not Product Proof.

 Why Ouren Memory ONE’s new AI disclosure reveals a consumer trap rather than resolving it.

Real money. Real risk. Synthetic proof.

Ouren Memory ONE’s new Indiegogo page contains a quiet admission near the bottom. Under “AI Disclosure,” the campaign says that “portions” of its promotional videos, posters and campaign images were generated or enhanced using AI. It also says its AI-generated scenes and product visualizations are not footage captured by the device and are not evidence of tested product performance.

Read those two claims together. The campaign uses polished visuals to show consumers what the product supposedly does, then states in the fine print that those visuals do not prove the product can do it.

That is the central risk potential backers need to see.

They filmed a shell. The feature story was manufactured.

I know the production process firsthand. I am a founder of the project, and I personally generated and edited part of the material used to present the product’s capabilities. I have not relinquished my founder status or related rights; an internal dispute remains unresolved.

Based on the material I produced, edited and reviewed, the live-action footage showed the exterior enclosure. The scenes presenting pet POV, AI understanding, FindPet, alerts, daily recaps and App outputs were generated, rendered or manually assembled. The examples I worked on were not automatic outputs from a working, integrated device-to-App system.

These synthetic scenes are not incidental decoration. They carry the campaign’s functional story. They are what make the viewer believe the wearable captures a pet’s world, understands it, finds the pet, generates alerts and produces polished memories inside an App.

Calling this only “portions” of the promotional material minimizes the issue. Consumers do not need a percentage. They need to know which claimed functions have actually been demonstrated by a working product.

A disclosure can still mislead

The new disclosure does not clearly label the individual videos, images and App screens at the point where they appear. A consumer sees the persuasive feature story first and has to locate a general paragraph near the bottom to learn that the visuals are not evidence of tested performance.

That is not meaningful transparency. It is a disclaimer designed to protect the seller after the synthetic material has already created the impression of a working product.

I consider this deceptive marketing. In my view, it has the structure of a crowdfunding scam:

- synthetic capabilities create confidence;
- a buried disclaimer limits responsibility;
- consumers provide real money;
- consumers carry the risk that the advertised system does not exist in working form.

The surrounding pattern increases the risk

The advertised launch date passed. The project name changed. The campaign page changed. A new disclosure appeared. The actual crowdfunding start date remained unclear.

What has not appeared is more significant: a continuous, uncut demonstration of the claimed product working from end to end.

No amount of renaming, redesigning or fine print can substitute for that evidence.

One uncut test would answer the question

The project team can resolve this immediately by publishing one continuous recording showing:

1. a real physical device capturing real input;
2. data transferring from that same device;
3. the actual claimed processing running;
4. the real App receiving and displaying the output;
5. every manual, rendered and AI-generated intervention.

No cinematic cut. No concept render. No prebuilt App mockup substituted for output. No AI scene presented as device footage.

Until that evidence exists, potential backers should treat the campaign’s feature visuals as advertising fiction rather than product proof.

The risk is blunt: **you may be funding a shell and a marketing story, not the product shown in the ads.**

Disclosure: I am a founder of the project, speaking from firsthand production involvement while an internal dispute remains unresolved. I have not relinquished my founder status or related rights. The campaign’s disclosure and the attached page captures are public. Readers should examine the originals before risking money.
